San Francisco, CA – March 10, 2009 – Revision3, the TV network for the Internet generation, today announced the addition of CO-OP to its show roster. A dynamic discussion-focused video game and gaming culture show, CO-OP maintains a devoted following and features popular hosts and former 1UP critics Ryan O’Donnell and Matt Chandronait. The first episode is available now at http://www.revision3.com/coop.

“Revision3’s audience is tech savvy, pop culture hungry and video game obsessed,” said Ryan Vance, Vice President, Programming & Production, Revision3. “CO-OP is the perfect complement to our line-up, rounding out a list of top shows that cover the ins and outs of technology, comic books, web culture and more. As a longtime fan of the Area 5 guys, I’m excited to expose their unparalleled access and unique vision of the video game world to all of our viewers.”

CO-OP was born from Area 5 Media, LLC, a collection of film geeks, videographers, musicians, animators and gamers. Named after the final level of the popular video game Rez, Area 5 founders created their hit show straight from their living room. The program presents a weekly look at the meaningful, important, interesting and just plain fun games on the market—or soon to be.

“After a grueling partner review process, Revision3 clearly emerged as our ideal network partner. On the forefront of the Internet television movement, Revision3 was peanut butter to CO-OP’s jelly, and best of all, the company is made up of people every bit as excited and passionate about the possibilities of new media as the Area 5 team has always been,” said Matt Chandronait, Co-Founder, Area 5 Media.

The CO-OP hosts are former creators of The 1UP Show for 1UP.com, which quickly grew into the most popular video game video podcast of its time. The team holds to its mission of providing the highest quality content in dedication of their passion for gaming and love of their fans.

Future episodes of CO-OP will air Tuesdays at http://www.revision3.com/coop.

Diggnation on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon

March 11th, 2009 at 10:52 by Michele Husak in Shows

In case you missed it, Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht of Diggnation appeared on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on NBC last night. This isn’t the first time Jimmy Fallon and the Diggnation guys have teamed up, as Jimmy was on Diggnation a few weeks ago. But this time, Kevin and Alex were on Jimmy’s court, from his studio in 30 Rockefeller Center in New York City.

If you missed it, here’s the entire segment of Kevin and Alex on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon:

Watch it on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’s site
Give Kevin and Alex’s appearance a Digg

All in all it was a great day for Diggnation. Not only were Kevin and Alex psyched to be on the show, but the Diggnation fans came and represented, as some were in line as early as 8 AM. Jimmy was nice enough to get the die-hard fans some breakfast:

We’d like to thank Jimmy Fallon and his entire, awesome team at Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and the folks at NBC for welcoming Diggnation onto their show and thanks to all of you, the loyal Diggnation fans who attended and watched at home.

thanks.

March 11th, 2009 at 07:16 by Michele Husak in Polemics

As you may have heard about recently, our very own David Prager, one of Revision3′s founders and producer of Diggnation, had an interesting evening last night. In his usual quiet neighborhood of San Francisco, he has an…unexpected visitor and as to what happened…well, best to let Prager explain in this exclusive advance preview of the FULL story coming on next week’s episode of The Digg Reel:

CO-OP Lands at Revision3

March 9th, 2009 at 05:48 by Rob Saurini in Announcements, Shows

There are times when my job is easy. The moment the Area5 (CO-OP) guys came to our office for their first meeting, I knew this show needed to be on Revision3. I’ve been a longtime fan of their work at 1UP and their new show is a huge creative leap forward. With that, I’d like to officially extend a HUGE welcome to our friends at CO-OP, the latest show to launch on the Revision3 network.

Matt, Ryan, Cesar, Jason, Rob and JayFresh have been working tirelessly to keep their show going independently through their new company, Area5. We are thrilled to give them a new home here at Revision3 and help them take their video game show to the next level. I can honestly say that this is a fantastic and dedicated group of guys and their talent is clear when you watch CO-OP. They have found an extremely engaging and entertaining way to talk about games with insiders who are actually their friends.

Check out this week’s premiere episode which is up now and the new episodes will be launching every Tuesday from here on out.
