The Game Show on Revision3 – SCORE!

March 31st, 2010 at 09:56 by Rob Saurini in Announcements, Shows

Have you ever live-streamed a web show? TheStream.tv has. In fact, they stream around 20 web shows, every week. Brian Gramo is the mad genius behind it all. I’ve been watching and enjoying his team’s work for some time, and that’s why I’m very happy to announce Revision3′s partnership with TheStream.tv. From what I can tell, Brian is pretty much at his live stream studio 24 hours a day. While everyone else is sleeping, he’s building up an impressive stable of regular programs that cover everything from dog-loving to B-movies. He has an amazing vision for this new network and is doing a great job of getting it off the ground. We’re excited to partner with him on distributing The Game Show, a show I’ve been watching for over a year now. Nikole, David and Jim turn in a fun and compelling conversation around videogames every week and their fans love it.

You’ll still be able to see the live stream at TheStream.tv OR you can watch it here at Revision3. Additionally, we’re going to distribute an edited version of the show through Revision3.com and all of our partners like iTunes and YouTube, exposing it to a lot more eyeballs… especially yours!

Brian and the entire team over at TheStream are extremely creative, dedicated, hard-working and visionary folks. We’re excited to be teaming up with them to forge new paths through this ever expanding online TV world!

Pick Your Favorite Shows & Create a Personalized Feed

March 11th, 2010 at 06:29 by Michele Husak in Announcements, Website

Today we’ve got a very exciting and cool new feature on Revision3.com that I’m psyched to tell you about. As you know we have a bunch of shows here at Revision3 for you to watch, and there are numerous ways to watch them: You can watch your favorite shows here on Revision3.com, or you can go to YouTube, or if you have a Roku or TIVO you can watch them there. But one way that a large number of Revision3 fans watch our shows is via RSS through an application like Apple iTunes, where you can subscribe to a feed for each show you watch.

The tech team here at Revision3 thought about that and came up with a cool idea. What if we made it easy for you to tell us what YOUR favorite Revision3 shows were and then we could create a feed that was personalized and unique to YOU and serve you all your favorite shoes as each episode is released? Then you can use that feed in iTunes, Google Reader, or whatever your preferred RSS application was. Pretty cool huh?

All you have to do is login to your Revision3 account (If you don’t have one, Register now, it’s easy!) and go to the “My Shows” section of your account. Tell us your favorite shows, what file format you want, and boom, we’ll give you your personalized RSS feed that will give you your Revision3 fix in one handy feed.

If you don’t know what RSS is, or what file format is best, that’s okay, we’ve made it easy by providing some handy explanations and details that should help you find your way.

We hope you dig this new feature and if you have any problems or questions, just post them in the Support area of the forums or email us at support AT revision3 DOT com.

Stay tuned here at the Revision3 blog, as we’re going to have some more cool, new functionality coming to Revision3.com in the upcoming months, so you’ll definitely want to sign up for an account so you can use all the cool, new stuff coming your way!

thanks.

Diggnation Invades Austin!

March 9th, 2010 at 11:09 by Michele Husak in Live Events

As the hordes of people descend on Austin, Texas this weekend for all the great events and happenings at one of our favorite conferences, SXSW, we’re excited to return to Austin for another LIVE Diggnation! If you were there last year, or saw the episode from last years show (check it out below), you know that this is one of the biggest and fun times for a live Diggnation.

This year is even better than last year too! We’ve got Brian Brushwood, the host of Scam School performing his bizarre magic for the crowd, Diggnation, AND we’ve booked an amazing band, The Walkmen to perform live! We’re back at our favorite BBQ spot in Austin, Stubb’s, since they have such a rad stage and outdoor area.

Here’s the details:
When: March 13th, 2010 – Doors open at 7
Where: Stubb’s – 801 Red River Street, Austin, TX (google maps)
Who: Anyone, 18 and over, no badge of any sort required
How Much?: FREE (yes, free!)

But it doesn’t stop there. We’ve teamed up with our friends at Gowalla to make this event one that you can check into, and if you’re one of the lucky people to check in on Gowalla, you may that you’ve won something, so make sure you’ve got it on your phone and you check in when you get there!

You can tell everyone that you’re going by RSVPing over on Facebook and join the thousands of people planning on attending. We look forward to seeing you there and hope everyone has a great time!

Here’s last year’s show at Austin so you can get at taste of what to expect:

Revision3’s Talent and Shows Receive Nominations for Second Year in a Row

Revision3, the leading Internet Television network with more than 1.5 billion minutes of video served, is proud to announce their nomination in three categories for four of their shows for the 2010 Streamy Awards, the first and most prestigious awards ceremony honoring excellence in original web television programming and those who create it. This is the second year that the Revision3 talent and shows have been nominated for the Streamys.

More than 150,000 public submissions, covering 2,000 original shows, were narrowed down to a field of just over 100 nominees. The winners will be announced on April 7th and April 11th at two separate ceremonies in Hollywood.

“As a member of the Streamys voting committee – who was recused from voting for our own shows – I can tell you that the competition was intense,” said Jim Louderback, CEO of Revision3. “It’s an amazing testament to our industry that so many great internet video shows are being produced, and enjoyed, by more and more viewers. With that said, it’s also great that as the industry grows, Revision3 continues to grow with it, by continuing to deliver our existing shows at a high level, and introducing new and innovative shows, like INST MSGS, that can be recognized, and rewarded, by voters and the viewing public.”

About Revision3

Revision3 is the first media company that gets it. Born from the Internet, Revision3 is the home of Internet Television, creating and producing shows for a new audience: passionate, committed fans who want to watch shows about technology, modern culture, video games, entertainment, music and comedy that entertain, educate and help to expand their life experiences.

The company was founded in 2005 by technology visionaries Kevin Rose, Jay Adelson and David Prager because they couldn’t find anything they wanted to watch on traditional television. The company is now led by Internet TV pioneer Jim Louderback.
