Hey Chicago and Baltimore/DC Rev3 fans,

I’m coming to town next month and would love to meet up with our local viewers for a beer and a chat.

I’ll be in Chicago on Thursday, June 16th and Baltimore on Friday, June 17th and could use your suggestions on the best spot (bar, lounge, etc.) to meet.

In Chicago, the locale needs to be somewhat near McCormick Place, so please keep that in mind.

In Baltimore, we’re thinking maybe Dougherty’s or Fraziers or The Windup Space or The Slaint Pub (or other options!).

In both cities, the meet-up will be from 5:30 to 7:00pm.

Please add your suggestion/vote in the comments. Thanks!

Help Us Help You…

March 22nd, 2011 at 06:17 by Michele Husak in Viewer Polls, Website

…with all due respect to Jerry Maguire, of course.

Over the last year, we noticed a pattern in our support emails: people who have been getting choppy, incomplete videos – or, worse, no video at all – seem to be coming from areas that are slightly out of reach of our video delivery network. Whether the user is in Revision3′s home country, or in Europe, Australia, or the UAE, it’s possible to be just a wee bit too far out of Revision3′s reach.  We have great programming, and great viewers who want to see what’s happening next on Dan3.0, pick up a few pointers from Tekzilla, or weird out a friend with Scam School antics… so, its up to those of us in the engine room to fix the problem.

We can tinker and tweak all we want – but we can’t very easily get on planes with laptops and fly to all points of the globe to test out our video delivery system. (Although, I think it might be worth it for the free peanuts, actually.) So, that’s where you come in…

We’ve set up two new video delivery technologies that we think will significantly improve the delivery of programming to you, no matter where you are. Taking a page from old commercials and mixing it with a sprinkling of modern crowd sourcing, we’ve created a blind “taste” test on Just point your browser to our Revision3 Video Vote page and help us out.

The test will only take 7-8 minutes of your time, tops. Just play the three videos (it’s Tom’s Top 5, which everyone wants to see at least three times), and answer the response questions below each. Please note, the only reason we ask you for your location is so that we can chart how we’re doing in different regions. We do not maintain or use this information for soliciting, sharing, telling your mother where you are, or any other nefarious purpose. We promise.

Thanks for the help – and please spread the word. Blog, Facebook, or Tweet out the link to our video vote page: We’re going to leave the page up for the next few weeks and see which technology serves you better.

Thanks again!

We advise you to get there early if you want to make sure you get in and get a good spot for the show.

The New Revision3 Store!

June 18th, 2008 at 01:55 by David Prager in Announcements, Viewer Polls

Hey everyone! Everyone here at Revision3 is putting a whole bunch of effort into building out a brand new Revision3 store and merchandise site. That means new shirts, hats, hoodies, stickers, wristbands, headbands, mouse pads, mugs, beer openers, and everything else awesome.

In an effort to make sure we provide you with everything that you want / need, we are looking to you for thoughts and suggestions about products we could supply from the store. We are open to any and every idea (as long as it is appropriate and possible) for every show. For example, AJ Vaynerchuk (a summer intern of ours) designed a concept for a Revision3 sneaker:

As you can see when we say anything, we really mean it! In addition to the products available in store, we’re going to be planning on some great free giveaways and stuff like that.

If you want to make a suggestion you can either leave a comment on this blog post, or make your way over to the Revision3 forums (here) and join the discussion there! An early favorite of the forums posters (and ours) is the laptop skins!

We are truly excited about getting this thing going and thank you in advance for all of the suggestions!

How do you watch our shows?

October 19th, 2007 at 11:29 by Michele Husak in Viewer Polls

For those of you (OK, that’s virtually all of you) who don’t know who I am, I’m in charge of the Technology group here at Revision3 – the folks who bring you the website, and encode video into various formats to help enable you to watch our shows the way you want to. We’re all pretty excited about some of the changes in store for the next weeks and months – some small, some considerably larger.

The reason for this post today is to gather some information from you, our viewers. As most of you know, we offer our shows in a variety of different downloadable formats as well as view-in-browser Flash video. As players and viewing patterns change, we want to make sure we stay on top of things so we can help you have the viewing experience you want. Some of the newer codecs (if you don’t know what a codec is, don’t worry!) are also gaining wider cross-platform support, and we have the opportunity to take advantage of this to streamline the numbers of codecs and containers we offer, while still increasing the number of different ways people can enjoy our shows. In order to do this, though, we need you to tell us how you watch us! We’ve set up a poll in our forums (thanks, Chuck!) that you can see here:

Poll: How do you watch Revision3 shows?

In order to vote in the poll, you’ll need to be logged in. If you don’t have an account yet, you can sign up on our registration page. (You can use your login to do other things, such as comment on this post, too)

We’ll leave the poll open for a few weeks, but we’ll probably start incorporating feedback from it sooner than that. (Like, probably within a week – we’re eager to get started!) We’ve got some great ideas how we can enable you to watch our shows the way you prefer to, and at the same time make it easier for us to deliver the shows to you.

Stay tuned for more, and thanks for watching Revision3!
