REVISION3 SAYS "ALOHA" TO INTERNET SUPERSTAR VERONICA BELMONT

April 9th, 2008 at 01:23 by Michele Husak in Press Releases

—FORMER HOST OF WEB PHENOMENON “MAHALO DAILY” JOINS AS TEKZILLA CO-HOST—

San Francisco, CA (April 9, 2008) - Revision3, the leader in exclusive Internet television, is welcoming a friendly face to its staff: former “Mahalo Daily” host and Web host extraordinaire Veronica Belmont. As host and producer of “Mahalo Daily,” Belmont wooed fans as she interviewed comic book legend Stan Lee, taught us how to plan a cheap date, took the Star Trek tour and went to CES. She will bring that same genius to Revision3, where she will co-host Tekzilla—the show that embraces digital technology and makes your tech work better for you—along side current host Patrick Norton.

“Veronica Belmont is one of the most original, authentic and enjoyable video personalities, both online and off. She’s been a frequent guest on Tekzilla, and she and host Patrick Norton just clicked,” said Jim Louderback, Revision3 CEO. “She’s a perfect counterpoint to Patrick, and will add tremendous depth and excitement to Tekzilla – already one of our most popular shows at Revision3. We’re lucky to be her new home.”

Veronica has established herself as one of the top stars of Web tech media. Besides her past incarnation as the host and producer of “Mahalo Daily” for Mahalo.com, she frequently guest hosts other technology-related webcasts, and also speaks about technology, gaming and social networking on a variety of media outlets. She regularly appears on programs including DL.TV, MSNBC, CNBC, the G4 Network, “PC Gamer,” and “This Week in Tech.”

Previously, she worked for CNET.com, where she produced and co-hosted the flagship CNET podcast “Buzz Out Loud,” as well as “MP3 Insider” and “Crave” video podcast. She also created and hosted video content for CNET TV.

Veronica is represented by International Creative Management’s George Ruiz, who brokered the deal with Revision3.

LOOKING FOR TOP INTERNET SUPERSTARS? MEET THEM DURING “INTERNET SUPERSTAR” LIVE IN SAN FRANCISCO APRIL 17

April 7th, 2008 at 07:53 by Michele Husak in Press Releases

Popular Web TV Show Leaves the Studio for a Special Performance at ad:tech
Guests include Diggnation’s Kevin Rose, Gary Vaynerchuk from Wine Library TV, Dr. Tiki and Ninjas!

San Francisco, CA – Revision3, the leader in exclusive Internet television, is joining forces with international Web conference ad:tech San Francisco for a live taping of Web super-show “Internet Superstar,” on Thursday, April 17 at 4:45pm PT. The hit show, which offers a daily portrait of an emerging Internet star, will take over San Francisco’s Moscone Center with a rock ’n’ roll keynote that you’ll be talking about for years.

“Internet Superstar” co-hosts Martin Sargent and “Gator” will host four of the biggest names in internet video, and engage them in a wide-ranging discussion about how internet video is writing the rules of finding, watching and advertising on video programs.

The amazing lineup of Internet guests include:
Gary Vaynerchuk, host, Wine Library TV – often called the Robert Parker of the Internet
Jeff MacPherson, creator and star, Tiki Bar TV – the funniest and sexiest way to discover new drinks
Kevin Rose, founder/chief architect, Digg.com, and host, Revision3’s “Diggnation” – the show that started it all, and still going strong almost three years later.
Kent Nichols, co-creator, AskANinja.com, Beatbox Giant Productions, LLC – Ask a Ninja is only part of Kent’s story. Ask him about “Killer Tomatoes” too.

Anyone can come watch the episode live at The Moscone Center in San Francisco (although Ad:Tech recommends that you preregister online at http://www.ad-tech.com/sf/ for a free expo pass to ensure a seat). The episode will be available for streaming and downloading on the Friday after the live show at www.revision3.com/internetsuperstar.

“Just as cable TV did shows that would have been banned on broadcast TV, the internet is a wide open frontier of creativity. Shows that would never, in a million years, get picked up on cable are building huge audiences, delivering amazing results to sponsors, and recreating the rules of video consumption,” said Revision3 CEO Jim Louderback. “If you’re involved in making, buying, selling or sponsoring internet or television media, then you must see this show. It’s the future, on display live. Plus you’re guaranteed a few laughs and you’ll know all about our “secret” after party too.”

Created by Martin Sargent and his co-host Gator, played by Jay Speiden, “Internet Superstar” is “the greatest show the Internet has ever seen,” according to Sargent himself. Relying on its hosts’ grit and wit, the show is shot in a dilapidated shed in Martin’s mom’s backyard. Martin and Gator invite viewers into the shed as they interview the online world’s most popular, compelling and outrageous characters to swap stories about what life is like at the top of the online heap and dissect the ultimate Web question: what is life like as an Internet superstar? And how do I get myself some of that coin?

About Martin Sargent
Internationally adored farceur Martin Sargent has been delighting audiences for decades, and is currently host of “Web Drifter” and “Internet Superstar,” both on Revision3. At ZDTV, TechTV and G4TV he hosted shows including The Screen Savers and Unscrewed with Martin Sargent. Since then he has done several pilots for such television powerhouses as Comedy Central and USA Network, and hosted shows on the Internet as well as mobile phones. Sargent got his start in media as a plucky young editor at PC/Computing magazine, and it is generally accepted in publishing circles that the periodical shuttered its operations as a direct result of Sargent’s exodus to pursue television projects.

About “Gator”
Gator is a hard-drinking drifter who was raised by an ex-con Seminole Indian named Starving Crow and now lives out of his truck in an abandoned lot in South San Francisco. He knows very little about the Internet and less about technology. His main job is to make sure Sargent doesn’t act like too much of a hotshot or get beat up by a guest. He has no knowledge of his real last name.

REVISION3 TO SYNDICATE TOP WEB SHOWS TO BLIP.TV

March 25th, 2008 at 09:06 by Rob Saurini in Press Releases

New York, NY March 25, 2008 – Revision3, the TV network for the Internet generation, today announced that it will begin syndicating its entire content catalog of shows to blip.tv. Beginning today, popular Web shows including The Digg Reel, popSiren and Tekzilla will be viewable on blip.tv and throughout the blip.tv distribution network. The shows can also be viewed at Revision3.com and on each show’s individual site.

Both Revision3 and blip.tv are focused on bringing passionate and committed audiences high quality original programming. Blip.tv’s distribution technology allows content partners to reach millions of viewers with built-in syndication to AOL Video, Yahoo Video, Twitter, MSN Video, Google Video and much more. Their user-friendly player design also makes it easy for audiences to download and share video content.

“Web entertainment is about unique content, reach and the flexibility to use multiple devices,” said Jim Louderback, CEO of Revision3. “People want to watch our shows whenever and wherever they’d like. Blip.tv stands out in terms of player design, distribution technology and the audience it allows us to tap into. Our syndication partnership with blip.tv helps us move toward a level of ubiquity that is extremely important to us.”

More than a dozen Revision3-produced shows will be made available. Taking advantage of the open nature of blip.tv’s platform, Revision3 will make each show accessible in multiple formats ranging from Flash to Quicktime to DivX to 3gp for cell phones.

“We’re very pleased to expand our relationship with Revision3,” said blip.tv co-founder and COO Dina Kaplan. “They’re creating exactly the type of content that inspired us to build blip.tv in the first place – addictive, well-produced shows with new episodes that are released on a regular schedule. We see this partnership between two of the Internet’s leading television networks as a no-brainer and we’re looking forward to further expanding our relationship with Revision3 in the future.”

In November 2007 Revision3 and blip.tv announced a cross-promotional partnership that called for top blip.tv shows to carry post-roll ads promoting Revision3 shows, and vice versa. The agreement has led to significant growth in viewership for the shows involved and is still in effect.

INTERNET TV LEADER REVISION3 ANNOUNCES RECORD YEAR

January 31st, 2008 at 05:27 by Michele Husak in Press Releases

Pioneering Network Delivers Over 100 Million Clips in 2007, Establishing Leadership Position in Internet TV Market

Announces New Partners and Advertisers

San Francisco, CA — Revision3, the TV Network for the Internet generation, today announced it has achieved significant growth and major milestones in the year 2007. Among these achievements is a substantial increase in viewership numbers. The network delivered a total of 11 million shows and over 46 million clips in the fourth-quarter reflecting a 440% percent increase from the first-quarter of the year. For the full year Revision3 delivered a total of more than 25 million shows, and over 103 million clips.

In 2007, a variety of leading consumer product companies including Ask.com, Sony, Virgin America, Warner Brothers Entertainment, GoDaddy.com, Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, Netflix, Intel, and Sandisk, signed advertising contracts with Revision3 based on the network’s ability to successfully influence the difficult to reach 18-34 year old demographic.

“At Virgin America we’re known for going the extra mile in the services that are meaningful to a forward thinking, discriminating market,” said Porter Gale, Vice President of Marketing at Virgin America. “One of our key targets is the young, intelligent, tech-savvy consumer. Revision3 delivers this market better than anyone else. They’ve far exceeded the results that we’d anticipated. Revision3’s ability to integrate our promotional message into their programming successfully generates consumer response to our promotions and drives seat sales. Advertising with Revision3 is a very important element to our web 2.0 marketing mix.”

At Revision3, sponsors are integrated into the network’s original hit shows, which include Diggnation, The Totally Rad Show, Web Drifter, and Tekzilla. As a result, sponsors enjoy a unique and highly effective bond with the network’s pop culture savvy fan base.

“Our programming delivers an unprecedented 100% unaided sponsor recall, and 4 out of every 10 viewers have purchased product or services from our sponsors,” said Brad Murphy, Vice President of Advertising Sales at Revision3. “That’s a phenomenal return on their investment. Not only is it incredibly difficult to reach 18-34 year olds, it’s even harder to spur them to action. At Revision3 we’ve delivered quantifiable results derived from our ability to successfully reach this passionate audience. And we do it better than traditional TV and other Internet shows.”

Revision3 also wrapped up the year by expanding its worldwide availability by finalizing strategic partnerships with leading digital content distributors including ADNStream.TV, Cnet and mobile distributor Transpera.

“It’s all about getting our great content in front of as many people as possible,” said Jim Lounderback, CEO at Revision3. “We want to be anywhere and everywhere our users hang out, including on mobile devices, big-screen TVs, and Internet-based destinations. We’re excited to add these new partners to our industry leading group of partners, which include DivX, Bittorrent, Vuze and iTunes. As a matter of fact, in addition to being one of the top content providers on iTunes, an unprecedented five of our shows were included on iTunes’ ‘Best of 2007 Podcasts’ lists.”

The network’s technology shows deliver strong and actionable information about exploring, enjoying and understanding everything from the iPhone to how to convert a standard car into a hybrid. Revision3’s modern culture shows provide hard-hitting reviews and insightful commentary on everything from weird websites to comic books, movies and video games. The network’s music shows take viewers behind the scenes with the latest indie bands, exploring emerging artists and showcasing alternative musical events. Revision3’s mid to long form original shows typically run between ten minutes to an hour in length, with segments lasting between one and five minutes. New episodes debut every week, new segments debut daily.
